- 1 pound boneless ground meat (beef, lamb, or combination)
- 1/2 cup chana dal split chickpeas, soaked and drained
- 1 medium onion finely chopped
- 1 tbsp grated ginger
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
- 1/4 cup chopped mint leaves
- 1 egg beaten
- Oil for frying
Mix all ingredients in a bowl: meat, lentils, spices, herbs, and onion.
Add the beaten egg and mix until fully incorporated.
Shape into 2–3 inch round patties.
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
Fry patties 3–4 minutes on each side until golden and cooked through.
Serve hot with chutney or yogurt dip.
