Whisk in the Liquids: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Whisk in the hot sauce and apple cider vinegar.
Add the Remaining Ingredients: Whisk in the honey or brown sugar, cayenne pepper (if using), and garlic powder. Stir until the sauce is smooth and all ingredients are well combined.
Simmer and Thicken: Return the saucepan to low heat and simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally. This allows the flavors to meld together. The sauce will thicken slightly as it simmers.
Season and Serve: Taste the spicy garlic wing sauce and add a pinch of salt if needed. Once the sauce has reached your desired consistency, remove it from the heat. Pour the sauce over freshly cooked chicken wings and toss to coat.
Notes
This sauce is also great on chicken tenders, grilled shrimp, or as a dipping sauce for fries.
