Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/4 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds ground
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped dark chocolate optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, mash applesauce and cocoa powder until smooth. Stir in almond milk, oats, honey, chia seeds, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • Fold in chopped dark chocolate (if using), ensuring even distribution.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  • Let cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Swap honey with maple syrup for a vegan option.
  • For extra fiber, add a tablespoon of flaxseed meal.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • Don't skip the parchment paper—it helps prevent sticking.
