Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chai Concentrate (Cold-Steep Method)
Cold Steep: Combine the tea (bags or loose leaf) with 1 quart of cold water in a pitcher or jar.
Infuse: Cover the pitcher and let it steep at room temperature for at least 4 hours, or up to 12 hours in the refrigerator. The longer the cold steep, the stronger and smoother the tea flavor will be, perfect for an Iced Chai Latte.
Store: Remove the tea bags (or strain the loose leaf tea). The concentrate is ready for immediate use, or it can be covered and refrigerated for up to 1 week.
Step 2: Prepare the Honey Syrup (If needed)
Combine: Mix the honey and water in a small bowl. Heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds or on the stovetop until the honey is fully dissolved.
Cool: Let it cool, then cover and refrigerate. The honey syrup can be stored for about 1 week.
Step 3: Assemble the Iced Chai Latte
Sweeten: Place 1 to 3 teaspoons of honey syrup in the bottom of your glass (or use another sweetener like sugar or maple syrup).
Ice: Fill the glass completely with ice.
Add Liquid: Pour in the 0.75 cup of chilled Chai Concentrate.
Add Milk: Add the 0.5 cup of cold milk.
Mix and Serve: Stir the contents well to combine. You can add more milk or syrup to taste. Garnish with a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for a complete Iced Chai Latte.
