Pastry:
- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed
- 1 egg yolk beaten
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
Filling:
- 8 ounces(225g) cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup strawberry jam
Topping:
- 1 cup fresh strawberries sliced
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface into a 12x16-inch rectangle.
Score a 1-inch border around the pastry edges and brush with beaten egg yolk.
In a bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract.
Spread the cream cheese filling within the inner part of the scored area.
Add strawberry jam on top of the cream cheese layer, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
Fold over the edges of the pastry to create a frame and seal the corners.
Brush folded edges with more egg yolk and sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Bake for 20–25 minutes until puffed and golden brown.
Let it cool slightly on a wire rack.
Meanwhile, mix sliced strawberries with powdered sugar and lemon juice. Top the cooled Danish with this mixture and serve.

-
You can swap strawberries for raspberries, blueberries, or a berry mix.
-
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
